Rib Cage

An often neglected area of musculoskeletal pain once medical screening is done. Our Physio’s can assess the posture and mobility of the Thoracic spine and rib cage.  The 1st rib, 2nd and 3rd, 4th-10th and 11th and 12th ribs all move differently and need specific assessment.   Manual techniques include passive mobilisation, muscle energy and counterstrain techniques.  Stabilisation and stretching exercises including Pilates, yoga and functional strength training are used for active rehabilitation.  Our Sports Doctors can screen for any medical issues.   Our Massage Therapists, Synergy Health, work on the tight areas that create problems in the rib cage.
